Cycling for Charity
My name is Neil Herbert and I have worked for Whalebone Building Supplies since its formation some 27 years ago, In 2011 I very very nearly lost my grandson George to the terrible virus of Meningitis. Bacterial meningitis kills more UK children under the age of five than any other infectious disease. With more research deaths from this killer virus can be considerably reduced, but the key is funding. I would like to raise at least £2000 for the Meningitis Now charity. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. ![]() Embarking on this difficult journey with my good friend Damon
on September 4th 2015. We will travel around 1240 miles (2000 km) and climb about 50,000ft in 2 weeks (hopefully) no time limit imposed. The journey starts in John O'Groats which is the most Northerly point in the UK. From here we will travel down to the most Southerly point being Lands End in Cornwall. The journey will take us through many cities and counties seeing some of the prettiest and Iconic places such as Peak District, Lochness and so much more. We will rely solely on pedal power to get us from End to End, all clothes, necessities and camping gear will be carried in panniers and on our bike racks. Neil. |
